The way I see it, a wedding’s purpose is to celebrate the beginning of a marriage. Each couple I serve I am honored to help them celebrate the beginning of their marriage adventure no matter the size of the party. I love to celebrate them too!
Considering the current status of communities near and far, it has been an odd season of weddings, no doubt. Pretty much every turn is another total unknown for us all, with no “right” way to navigate it. One thing I do know is when deciding what the next step is for wedding plans, you have to move forward with what is best for you. Some brides have opted to postpone their entire event for a future date. For a few brides with big events planned, they decided to only postpone the big celebration but still get married. It’s been a breath of fresh air (and flowers) to create a simple bouquet and perhaps provide some ceremony floral for their very intimate nuptials.
This was the case for Alex and Luke. After considering options, they decided on a super intimate desert “I do” ceremony close to home. A few members of their families came together to cheer them on at the start of their biggest adventure yet, becoming husband and wife. Alex is a sweet vendor friend, and we’d spent months chatting about her big day. We talked of location, design, and about the thoughtful notes written to each of her guests. Everyone involved was so excited for her full desert celebration and joyous reception. Then we were all hit with this whirlwind of change the week before her wedding. She is a champ. As a wedding photographer herself, she was helping her own brides through all the changes, along with trying to decide what was best for her and Luke’s wedding as well.
Even though it ended up looking a lot different than planned, it was a joy to help her become a Mrs! It was magical. In the cool of early spring, and after a little bit of a hike out, they did it, they said “I do”! Their other cheerleaders of friends and family not able to be there made a precious video to celebrate them. I just love this gal, and it was truly a joy to be a small part of her celebration!
