With arrangements in place, my role as a florist takes a break on wedding days until it is time to return for tear down at the end of the night. I see beautiful empty ceremony and reception areas just waiting to welcome guests. It’s in the photos that come later where I LOVE getting to see how the couple’s wedding day plays out. I don’t know if I have ever seen quite the amount of true joy from a couple as I witnessed in Stephanie and Alex’s photos by the talented Jen Jinkens. The couple’s classic North Scottsdale wedding was elegant and personal. There was also no shortage of laughter and smiles.
From the beginning, working with Stephanie and her planner Lara of Laki Events and Design was a dream. It was fun seeing Stephanie’s enthusiasm and excitement when we first met to chat about her big day. I loved hearing her and Alex’s love story, and how she wanted to treat her family coming from New York to a beautiful desert celebration.
After I met Stephanie, a weather anchor and reporter for Fox 10, I of course had to check out her segments on the news. #OLMOstTheWeekend! She is just as vibrant and joyful in person as she is updating the valley on all the fun things and weather in Phoenix.
Once we chatted about what elements were important to Stephanie, she let me dream up the floral arrangements for her big day. I was excited for the classic details. Plenty of greens brought the outside into their reception space at Troon Country Club. The views at their cocktail hour’s indoor/outdoor bar were stunning. Not to mention out the windows of Troon. I also loved that Stephanie was up for sky high greenery draped chandeliers. These pieces were a lovely element to her reception design, and an adventure to install!
Stephanie and Alex’s organic floral highlighted their classic reception. It included tall glass centerpieces and glass pillar candle centerpieces with greens throughout. Floral forward arrangements in low gold mercury vases donned reception tables. Above the guests were plenty of organic greens draping the chandeliers. The candles throughout were a lovely touch that helped transform the space into a romantic feeling after the sun went down. I can’t even imagine how amazing the sunset was to watch in the background as the celebration carried on into the night!
Lara of Laki Events and Design and her team were so kind and great to work with throughout the whole process. With the wedding having two key locations across town, Lara and her team handled it like pros. She was so calm and laid back given what could be stressful logistics, and a joy to work with!
Anna of Troon Country Club was a superstar. She was so helpful and her dedication to having a stellar event for Stephanie and Alex was evident. Her passion showed through and it was a joy to work with her!
Stephanie and Alex’s photographer Jen Jinkens made me fall in love with details all over again! Her photography is stellar, and she is so sweet to work with. Seeing the special attention she paid capturing the reception space made me giddy! It might just be my favorite to date. What a perfect way to look back and remember this joyous classic North Scottsdale wedding.
