Kerry and Jake’s wedding day had no shortage of smiles and contagious laughter! This colorful Gilbert fall wedding was bright in hue and charm. I sought to honor her and Jake’s cheery disposition in the design. It was a treat to bring flowers to their big day, and be privy to some of the joy!
When Kerry and I first started talking about design, her choice of a burgundy and blush palette was a wedding combo that you can almost never go wrong with. Staying within the primary color of red and traveling up and down its tints is appealing to the eye. To my delight, she was also in for expanding the palette to include pops of gorgeous peach, a next door neighbor to red on the color wheel.
I always have fun dreaming up design details with a bride. With a theme and color in mind, Kerry was open to hearing my ideas before deciding on final details. Together, we were able to do some fun design dreaming to come up with the arrangements enjoyed on their wedding day. In the moments after a bride gets her bouquet, I can’t help but think about how lucky I am to create such a special accessory for her. When I delivered Kerry’s arrangements, it was no exception!
While still having a classic style, Kerry and Jake’s wedding achieved a comfortable, laid-back feel through their planning. Their venue, The Falls in Gilbert, had a beautiful and calming outdoor waterfall backdrop for the ceremony. The Falls offers clean spaces and an open layout to make a wedding day custom to the couple. The large gazebo where ceremonies are held not only blocks the Arizona sun, but makes a pleasant setting for onlookers and the bridal party.
Kerry’s bridesmaid bouquets were smaller versions of her own, complimenting their burgundy dresses that were in different styles. Eucalyptus, of course!, ranunculus, varying roses, chocolate cosmos, and a very fun fuji bronze mum flower were included. Jake had a different color flower in his boutonniere of burgundy, contrasting his groomsmen flower of ivory, so Kerry’s true love could stand out!
Lining the aisle made of classic and simple white folding chairs were black lanterns accompanied by Italian Ruscus, silver dollar eucalyptus and wax flower with burgundy? Scattered tastefully on certain rows was a gathering of blue thistle, Italian Ruscus and red roses. The design continued onto a sparkling gold sweetheart table with a romantic loveseat style chair.
Kerry and Jake’s love for one another shone through to their wedding style. They are a fun-loving couple. You could sense the excitement leading up to the wedding from Kerry of marrying her best friend. She’s a smiley gal, but on her wedding day she was grinning from ear to ear. It was so fun to hear their love story, one of my favorite parts of my job, along with the flowers!
There was no shortage of joy from the bridal party and family present to celebrate the two. Kerry’s mom had the planning covered down the the detail for a flawless day. As an elementary school teacher, this was no surprise, and her strategy to get everyone in their place was above par! Scott English captured their emotions just perfectly, from the joy filled bride with her bridesmaids, to the overwhelming emotion of her groom as he saw her begin the walk down the aisle.
It was truly such an honor to bring some blooms for their big day. The glimpse I got of the joy at their wedding had me smiling. I knew the colorful flowers would be a bright match to the feel.
If you are looking to celebrate in a day surrounded by audible laughter and infections joy, let’s talk and see how the right floral design can highlight the festivities in your honor.
