You have the ideas bouncing around in your head for your wedding. Making them happen seems almost impossible on your own. But don’t sweat! That is why you hire a dream team of people and businesses, known as vendors, to make your ideas a reality!  I want to add another thought when you are considering hiring these people. Pick people who embrace your vision and rock at doing what they love. But also pick people who work well with others, and your wedding day will be beyond belief. Because when everyone works together, it turns your wedding from being a memory into a stellar experience.

 Trust Your Team

Would I attempt to fix a leaky pipe in the wall of my kitchen? Heck no! I know for a fact there would be a swimming pool of water in the house by the end of that attempt. Please, bring in the expert! Same goes for your wedding vendors. The people on your dream team are subject matter experts. A good vendor will listen well and ask the questions that enhance instead of hinder your vision. Vendors can also offer a lot of value if you let them take your vision and do some dreaming themselves. Let them get to know you so that they can help bring your love story to life. It’s your big day and you don’t want it to be like any other wedding that has happened before. You want it to be tailor fit to your love story.

Your florist

has a major influence on the mood for the day. Instead of two basic colors from a wedding checklist, arrangement design and florals are chosen with you, bride and groom, as the inspiration. Having listened to your color vision, I blend the notable colors into a lovely palette. I incorporate the in-between colors to blend them all into an effortless visual experience for your guests. It puts them in the mood to come around you and celebrate your love.

Your photographer

is going to be with you for most of the day. So pick one you not only like the photographic style of, but that you also feel comfortable and vibe with! I like to say you’re on a date with your photographer for your ENTIRE wedding day.  You better like them, almost as much as the other person you’re spending your whole wedding day with. They should also want to get to know you. It is wise to let them since they are going to be able to recognize and capture the unique and personal moments between you two better because of it. They’ll be your everything that day. They take you through the moments before you meet your love for the first look, they are close by as you’re about to walk down the aisle, and they are there for all of the celebrating as you come back down the aisle as a newly married couple!

Your coordinator

is your paid new best friend. Or maybe an extension of your brain is better put. This person will get to know you so well through the planning process that they won’t have to think twice to know how you would handle things. You should also make sure you like and get along with this person.  You will be spending quite a while with them also. They are going to take care of all the details so all you have to think about is saying “I do”, and having the best day of your life.  You will be none the wiser to your nephew sticking his finger in the side of your cake or the officiant getting a flat tire on the highway, Everything will be perfect when you walk down the aisle because of them.

Working Well with Others

It may not be on your radar when searching for your dream team, but making sure each person you are hiring works well with other vendors can make your wedding even better. They are going to need to communicate. Your florist may give flowers to your baker. Your coordinator will make sure your photographer has all of your desired family shots on the list. Or your rental company needs to know the tables you ordered will fit through the venue’s doors. The more of a connected team communicating well that you have working for you, the better the results of your wedding will be. Your team wants to deliver an amazing day for you, instead of bouncing after their part is done. They will have each other’s backs when hiccups happen and no one will be the wiser because the results are still stellar.

You have the ideas for your big day bouncing around in your head, hire a wedding dream team of people and businesses to make your ideas a reality!

A Dream Team in Action

I have been on many awesome vendor teams. One of my favorite experiences was with a group of vendors that brought a desert wedding photo shoot to life.

  • Seeking an elegant and classy styled wedding, a fine art film photographer, Kha Do, agreed to join the team. He takes great pride in capturing an event in a creative and passionate way. He is all in and isn’t just trying to check the box. He had scouted the perfect location, models, and sent the timeline before it was even requested.
  • The coordinator, Carlie with Riding Tandem, effortlessly made all the details fall into place. From the rings, rentals, and table scape to fruit and beverages for the table, she made the day just perfect by including elements often overlooked. She also is the soccer mom of all wedding events. She came with a cooler of snacks, unlimited help to make the ideas come to life, and lots of organization.
  • Grace with Darling Detail takes such pride in her creative outlet of calligraphy. She made each detail effortlessly connect. Her amazing work is evident in the watercolor details on the name cards.
  • The Confetti Studio rentals had such fun goblets that matched our blue watercolor ideas perfectly. They were able to create a combination of classic and high end, mixed with a unique touch of the blue watercolor palette.
  • Event Rents AZ provided the chairs in the desert adventure. They are super sweet and easy to work with, plus their inventory is pretty thorough.
  • Ruze Cake House created a beautiful watercolor cake, and of course nailed it! They truly are experts in their field, and their artistry is always blowing me away.
  • I was excited to have the responsibility of picking the dress. I went for a one of a kind, bell sleeve with skirt option, different from what I had been seeing brides wear. My husband and I also built the table in the desert! We couldn’t find quite the right style, so we decided to make it ourselves. When you have a style vision in mind, you can do some crazy things to make it happen! For the flowers, I used one of my favorite copper combo roses because of their beautiful color, and I adore their style of opening up and commanding attention. I paired them with delicate pale lavender scabiosa flowers.

We all worked as a team with the end style goal in mind to produce a fantastic day that was better than imagined.

You just got engaged, don’t let the stress of planning your wedding dampen your mood! Find a wedding dream team, people who are experts and good at what they do. Make sure you like these people too! You will be communicating with and spending quite a bit a time with some of them. Let these people get to know you also. Then, they can embrace your style and provide a product or service to you that is exactly what you were dreaming of. And don’t forget to make sure these people also like to work with other people in their field. Because when all the puzzle pieces come together, the most beautiful experiences, your wedding day to be exact, are born.

Leave a comment of who is (or was) on your dream team!
